Cascade Clamps - Cascade Manufacturing Company was founded in Portland, Oregon in 1943. They began as a small machine shop in the beginning hiring four people. Sales for their initial year of operation totaled sixty thousand dollars. The first recorded sales revenues involved the machining and assembly of stainless-steel valves, pipe fittings and other components. During 5 years of operation, the business had expanded to forty employees and their annual sales volume had increased to $330,000. Today, Cascade is amongst the top international producers in the material handling industry.
Design and manufacturing of the company's original hydraulic cylinder allowed this new business to aggressively pursue new business opportunities. All through the final 60 years, the industry of material handling has grown into a very complex field with Cascade proudly playing a part in its improvement. Cascade at present continues to develop as the best supplier of forklift accessories and numerous associated products. The business feels assured in their ability to be able to continue to lead the way in the business by understanding buyer's requirements in the future and remaining aggressive within the international market.
In the nineteen fifties, Cascade started designing, fabricating and promoting hydraulic accessories. Manufacturing was done in 1956 on a brand new office to accommodate all of the office and plant operations in Portland, Oregon at the company's present headquarters. Subsequent to 15 years of business, total workers reached a hundred and eighty staff and sales had reached practically 2.3 million dollars.
A second production plant was built in the year 1959 in Springfield, Ohio. nineteen sixty marked Cascade's preliminary move into the international world of the material handling industry as the business recognized interest in the Netherlands, England, and Australia.
In the year 1964, the business altered its name to the Cascade Corporation. Then in the year 1965, the company went public with a preliminary offering of 200,000 shares of common stock. Ever since then the company has expanded its manufacturing services throughout the continental US to the areas Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already existing plants in Portland, Oregon and Springfield, Ohio. Cascade merchandise are fabricated internationally thanks to many subsidiary operations.
